Is more always better?
Our current development, in Ireland and throughout the market economy system, is based in practice on the pursuit of the highest attainable rate of economic “growth”.  Yet this “insatiable and irresponsible” growth, as Pope Francis has described it in Laudato Si (par.193), is unsustainable.  We have to redefine our notion of economic progress (par. 194).   More is not necessarily better.
All welcome to the next meeting of the Parish Environmental Group, Wed 23 Jan, Resource Centre 7.30pm
