IRELAND WELCOMES POPE FRANCIS
Pope Francis will attend the Festival of Families in Croke Park on Saturday 25th August and he will celebrate Mass in the Phoenix Park on Sunday 26th August. All tickets have been booked out, including 500,000 for the Mass to conclude the World Meeting of Families.
All tickets for the Pastoral Congress at the RDS 22-24 August have also been booked out. 10,000 visitors are expected from abroad
In his exhortation on Love in the Family, entitled the Joy of Love, Pope Francis responded to the unprecedented worldwide consultation on marriage and family life. He notes:
“for all the many signs of crisis in the institution of marriage, the desire to marry and form a family remains vibrant, especially among young people, and this is an inspiration to the church;”
“encourage everyone to be a sign of mercy and closeness wherever family life remains imperfect or lacks peace and joy;”
Questions for ourselves:
o Talk about some things that bind your family together.
o Are there things you could do better?
o How important is prayer in your family?
The collection for the ST VINCENT DE PAUL will take place this weekend 21st / 22nd July, 2018. Please give as generously as you can.
