FAITH IN ACTION IN OUR PARISH
International media recently carried the news that 40 Catholic organisations worldwide including the Belgian Bishops’ Conference, have decided to sell any holdings they have in fossil fuel companies. This is in line with the Pope’s call for ecological conversation and a change to sustainable lifestyles.
Our parish has to do its part too, as have each worshipper and Catholic family, in their own way in accordance with their circumstances. In his encyclical Pope Francis points to the danger of obstructionist attitudes “even on the part of believers”, ranging from denial of the problem to indifference, resignation or blind confidence in technical solutions.
So we hope gradually to make our parish a living, practicing eco-community. Everyone can take at least one step, however small.
One such step would be to participate for one hour from 11 am on Saturday 18th November in the LITTER CLEAN-UP being organized by the Parish Environmental Group spreading out into the neighbourhood around our Church.
Mark it in your calendar!
Why not join in as a family too?
The collection for the ST VINCENT DE PAUL will take place this weekend (14th /15th October, 2017). Please give as generously as you can.
