PARISH PASTORAL COUNCILS

Pastoral councils were established in our parish is 2005.
They form part of the Diocesan Renewal Programme Working Together for Mission
The pastoral council is a team of priests and people who help to foster the liturgical and pastoral life of the parish, characterized by faith, mission, worship and service.
The council should facilitate
* The proclamation of the Word of God and faith      formation within the community.
* Foster the sacramental and prayer life of parishioners.
* Support marriage and family life.
* Care for the marginalized.
And thereby ensure that parishes bear witness to the love of Jesus.

Some people have retired from our Parish Council after many years of faithful service.
We need about 6 new members, a mixture of men and women and of different ages.
In the coming weeks Catherine Logan, our Chairperson and Leonard Kaye, Pastoral Worker in this area will share their experiences of pastoral councils.
After that we will seek nominations of new members
Come Holy Spirit inspire and guide us.
